I don't think there is any data published showing the amount of gambling

by conference. I suspect it does exist somewhere though and someone is using it to make decisions with. If the various sports talk shows on TV and the radio spend majority of their time focused on certain conferences during their "gambling segments," then it could suggest the data shows those conferences are seeing the most significant action. Then again, I am assuming the network doesn't have any other potential biases that could influence their business decisions.
