One must not forget that the PACN was smack dab in the middle of those

negotiations. The PAC owned 100% of the PACN, and it wasn't doing so well. The projections of the PACN were way out of whack with the reality. From where I'm sitting, neither ESPN or FOX wanted anything to do with that cluster mess. Dr. eat Crow at ASU was not only the one that pegged their value at $50M, he is also the one that wanted to go with Apples offer, which was a terrible offer. This was because they really thought they would score big with their network. How much that network was involved in the negotiations I'll probably never know. it didn't get much press though, and the network in now defunct. Sometimes I wonder if it was arrogance, or just bad business knowledge that led to their demise. Their contract up to USCLA departing was about $25M a year if my memory is correct. It is interesting to me $25M is what the B12 gets from ESPN. I also wonder if it was Yormark that cut in line, or was it ESPN picking up the phone, and asking the B12 if they wanted the money. No matter how it happened, the business schools at those Universities should offer a class on how not to negotiate.

They don’t have to drop it. They can just start a brand new contract

I don’t either, cuz Fox or Peacock or CBS will be glad to grab it…**

Nobody else can just "grab" the ACCN if ESPN declines to extend the r'ship-

It's not that bold a prediction. The fact it isn't already extended

Yes, the GOR has a 2036 date for a very specific reason

I don't think it's a re-negotiation. It's an option to extend
