My very basic take is that a GOR is fundamentally tied to the media contracts. So for the ACC, our GOR/media contract goes to 2036. For the BIG, their current media contract goes to 2030. Where it gets tricky is that some GORs have other very strict conditions in place (e.g., the ACC forcing schools to give up all rights even if they leave the conference). But not every GOR has this. And the BIG has been very secretive so none of us knows what is actually in the BIG GOR for commitments. All we do know is that it ends in 2030, which is the current media contract. The link you shared, along with many other links from a google search, points to the private equity proposal and is not finalized. So the one thing we do know is that the BIG GOR goes to 2030. And that would be the window for teams to jump to the P1 if they wanted. Especially since the SEC doesn't have a GOR (just a contract that runs to 2034).
