As a public educator (and coach)

I am specifically speaking to this part; However, I am not sure they would feel the same way if the profession is a teacher, fire fighter, police officer, or someone in the military. At this point it wouldn't surprise me if there are people out there who feel people working in the public sector are currently overpaid regardless of what is required of them to perform the job. I know this to be fact, at least here in Michigan. There are those that view us educators as an enemy. I won’t get into the political aspects (it’s very political) but it’s very different than it was 25 years ago when I started teaching. I will say that where I teach, there is a ton of support for us teachers, especially those that are established and have a good reputation. There are other places that do not have any support at all.
