hmmmm...so, what if FSU's goal is simply

to make a big enough stink to get ESPN to pull the plug on the agreement early. If FSU loses to the ACC and FSU can't find the money for a buyout, then ESPN is still stuck with a decade of marketing maybe the highest profile malcontent ever. But if ESPN pulls the plug, the GOR would likely no longer apply and then your scenario or something similar could kick in...making what would effectively be ACC downsizing much more politically palatable for the football powers.
