The Pac-12 grant of rights was coming up on its expiration.

So in retrospect it makes perfect sense that USC and UCLA left when they did. Same for Texas and Oklahoma with the Big 12 grant of rights expiring. The ACC's grant of rights is still 13 years away so we shouldn't expect any ACC schools to leave for years.
