Syracuse had just won the NCAA basketball tournament, and he had a lot of ‘political’ capital within the Syracuse Athletic Department at that time, and he was saying to not be so sure Syracuse was interested in leaving the Big East. That was the first day I really felt like VT had a shot at the ACC.

So in a week, Va Tech is staying in the *ACC, going to the B1G, SEC & B12
