UConn should either join the MAC for all sports or rejoin the CAA for
VTHokie2000 11/26/25 01:22 PM ET
They are waiting for a call from Yormark. **

ACC when some leave, more rivals, & many Presidents care about Academics,

If some schools leave the ACC, UConn will be considered.
RandomAsianGuy 12/01/25 06:09 PM ET
If UConn is that much of a catch, then what is the Big XII waiting for?**
VTHokie2000 11/26/25 10:05 PM ET
They are waiting to see what happens to your conference in a few years **
Big12 guy 11/28/25 12:20 PM ET
You know the interest is not always mutual.**
RandomAsianGuy 11/27/25 12:17 AM ET
You know you just reinforce my point that no conference is truly
VTHokie2000 11/27/25 09:38 AM ET
I never reputed that point. That does not mean UConn should join the MAC. **

Remaining in Independent purgatory isn't the answer**
VTHokie2000 11/27/25 02:50 PM ET
Neither is joining the MAC. **
RandomAsianGuy 11/27/25 03:48 PM ET
The MAC has a TV contract which UConn currently doesn't have as an
VTHokie2000 11/27/25 05:44 PM ET
I’d rather stay independent than join a mediocre mid major.
RandomAsianGuy 11/27/25 06:07 PM ET
That mediocre mid-major (as you put it) has an avenue to earn an automatic
VTHokie2000 11/27/25 06:39 PM ET
But joining a mid-major doesn’t help UConn’s ultimate goal.
RandomAsianGuy 11/27/25 11:12 PM ET
If UConn was "serious" about achieving that goal, then they shouldn't have

That doesn’t make sense but you are entitled to your opinion. **

Sure it does when you look at the history of UMass, New Mexico State, Army,

You assume they will be able to play more ACC and Big XII schools. What if

We can argue all day but UConn is not going to join the MAC. **

To join the MAC, they would have to take

What I was meaning in my post is that UConn football is not valuable like

They screwed up around 1990 when the Big East added "big boy" football.

I think part of the issue was Memorial Stadium (their on campus stadium)
