I was curious and just looked

Not counting ND (since that is tied to the ACC agreement), they have played 6 P5 teams over the most recent ten seasons. I checked from 2014-2023 (included this season) and only counted their regular season (no bowl games). 6 P5 teams over ten years. And even with that 2 games were in 2019. So the other 9 seasons had 4 P5 games OOC. Here is a sample of some opponents. It's so much worse than I expected. 2023: Army, Holy Cross, UConn, Northen Illinios 2021: Colgate, Temple, UMass, Missiouri 2018: UMass, Holy Cross, Temple, Purdue 2016: UMass, Wagner, Buffalo, UConn
