The SEC always seems to be one step ahead of the B16...

The last four schools to join the B16 have been a reaction to what another conference did. Maryland-Rutgers was in response to the ACC surrounding Penn State with the additions of Pitt and Syracuse and Notre Dame (as a non-football member). UCLA/USC was in response of the SEC's addition of Texas and Oklahoma. The SEC took action and the B16 reacted.
