The state investment in the ACC is huge and un reported

NC contributed 20-30 million to the ACC to relocate the ACC HQ to Charlotte. It also gave ACC huge tax breaks. With that they got most of the acc sports championships, including football, basketball (charlotte/ Greensboro), baseball charlotte etc. This is the same state that oversees their universities with the UNC university system. While UNC and their wealthy alumni think they can jump, they are not like their brethren at Duke. They are part of the UNC system, and they cant simply jump, no matter if you are Jordan or any of their CEO's lobby. The state of NC got ahead of this (after seeing the UCLA/ University of California controversy, and they wanted to make sure they have the oversight and governance. They got it now. UNC (and their trustees) better get their homework together, the trustees are finding out, they are not the ultimate governance of UNC Chapel Hill its the board of governors. (and many of those trustees are having a fit). and any trustee who runs his/her mouth ahead of the Board of Governors position will be handled. This is another issue where his whole plan is BI PARTISAN. In such of split state like NC, this is an unified position

Simple answer to #1 NO. Bringing in USF to replace fsu and klempsun? LMAO

I agree the chances are slim of E$PN ponying up the cash

WRT USF, think about this. SMU brings in a whole new state AND is from

Not sure why he says add USF if FSU leaves. We'd still have Miami.
Maroon Baboon 05/26/24 10:09 PM ET
USF only gets added to the ACC if we lose both F$U AND Miami
obguthr 05/27/24 09:19 AM ET
No options left in those worth adding.
