To your point, ESPN would be losing all these schools to the B10, which

they don't earn money on. Basically, you're saying that ESPN can EXTEND the ACC just to block everything. If that is the case, if the ACC doesn't have departures by June then they will have to find enough homes for ACC schools to get 10/18 to vote to dissolve. I think that would kill the contract? I think this post popped up before you responded. In which case it goes like this. If the June 30 deadline occurs without defections, it looks like a coalition is forming. Three new schools get added, bringing the number to 17 (18? since ND votes), so then you need 10 to vote to disband. ND is cozy with Stanford. FSU and Clemson want to leave. UNC, UVA, VT and NCSU seem to be coordinating. That is EIGHT. My guess is that B10 would pull in Cal. That's NINE. Who is TEN? Duke for a sweet bball only share? Maybe full membership? If not, you could play them off versus Miami. It seems that Duke would be preferred to Miami and UNC really needs to have Duke in the same Bball conference in my view. So, these numbers get really big, and I think this many additions is too big for the SEC, plus the B10 has much more academic prestige, and when it gets this big, you can make the travel much more sane by having 3 regions. That would be an impressive conference and I really think that most university presidents hold their noses at the SEC's academics. Like I said.
