Maybe Zima and brie are more lucrative than what Hokie fans realize
especially if enough Wahoo alumni/fans sit on the Brie Exchange. Football may be the most difficult sport to get the most bang for your buck because of the number of players involved with the sport. Since Wahoo alumni/fans don't really care about football, they may be more inclined to donate more money for the other sports because it is easier to see a positive result in the sport (unless the team is playing a #16 seed in the NCAAT).
