Baseball wouldn't be one to do that since it is 3 game series.
What they could do is the Friday night game and a double header on Saturday so that the teams can return. If there is weather then slip to Sunday for the return after. I believe the best way would be to have only one on the road each year, and the other to be coming east. Flip the next season. So each of the eastern teams only makes on trip out there each season. For Cal and Stanford, they'll need to make multiple trips east, but it could be spaced out.
The ones with the multiple options are things like Basketball, Soccer, Field Hockey, Lacrosse, etc. where there is only 1 game and not a series like baseball or softball.
