I definitely understand the sentiment. But the main G5 contenders have been absorbed into the B12. And with the ever increasing $$ disparity and the very strong likelihood of fewer non conference games in the near future, the G5 isn’t going to be able to compete, drastically reducing the likelihood of a Cincinnati or UCF rising up again 5-10 years from now.. And they may well prefer a choice to play for their own title, a la FCS schools. I also feel the B12 is being groomed to provide the “G5” aspect of the Power 2 era. It is possible that both the ACC and B12 are. And with the ever increasing size of these leagues, the resulting inclusion of the vast majority of teams with a history of modern football success would further reduce any notion of lack of access to parties who realistically could expect to make use of said access.. ** Edited by hokieZ71 at 8/21/2023, 9:55:05 PM
