Agree about the basketball - it's the one thing about men's college BBall

that I really disliked was the whole "strength of schedule" criteria that kept VT out of the tourney for years when they were just as good as 40 of the other teams in the tourney. I don't care what formulas or metrics are used - it can be super subjective and if you start out with 70% of your conferences teams ranked in the top 25 like the SEC did in basketball this past year, odds are an SEC will win the tourney like this year because the tourney will be loaded with SEC teams.
