Most of them have always been pointless for the National Championship and

final season ranking. And they are not a big draw for TV viewers. But if the host cities can still make money, and the sponsors get their money's worth of exposure the bowls might as well continue. The teams get a few more weeks of practice/training. The seniors who rode the bench all along the way will get their moment in the sun. And many fans in cold climates will still welcome a reason to visit Miami, New Orleans, Phoenix, etc. in December.
