IMHO, if ESPN backs out, there is a really good chance that a

new conference of the Mag 7, or some variation of that emerges. You need 8 for a conference, and ESPN may just be behind such a move. They could give top teams a "raise" with the same amount of money. I don't think an 8 team conference has enough inventory, but if you look at the timelines of the contracts in place today, I see is as a real risk to the B12. It's why I posted the rumors of UConn. If there is a shred of truth to those rumors, it is because the top teams of the ACC would be unavailable for the b12 to get IF ESPN walks. ** Edited by Big12 guy at 8/22/2024, 11:41:42 AM
