2. By what scenario could the university representatives and ACC mgt, NOT

have known about the cancellation feature? How on earth could something like that been slipped in? "Hey guys, we have a deal with a top line number of $X annually, but you can't read this, you just have to trust us?" This is what seems even more slippery. 1. ESPN makes threats about non-disclosure of trade secrets. 2. If this scenario is correct, then wouldn't a LOT of ACC school people have to have known about this? However, it seems that FSU and Clemson were legitimately surprised about some of the details. How could this be? Either something was hidden or some people were COMPLETELY asleep at the wheel and derelict at their duty. How could a contract with such bad terms have been signed? I want to find this out and see if someone did something wrong. Hopefully several states will start focusing in on ESPN/Disney. I'm still quite cranky about us not going to the SEC in 2012. It seems like a lot of people would have an interest in keeping these details from being revealed. The more success FSU has, the closer we get to having accountability, so I am rooting for FSU to win. Am I missing something? This situation looks like it was very bad from the start. Some schools might have made some bad decisions to stay in the ACC, that was based on bad information. The VT to SEC window probably closed prior to these events, but I still want to find out. ** Edited by TDVick at 4/8/2024, 3:33:59 PM

Can someone remind me; are we rooting for FSU & Clemson to blow up the ACC?

Opinions? 1 Is the ACC contract as bad as the leaks suggest?
TDVick 04/08/24 03:08 PM ET
do we know for sure that is not a standard component of more ESPN contracts

I don't think this deal was a horrible as you want to make it.
VTCALS72 04/12/24 08:54 AM ET
The ACC must fully die in order for schools like VT to move

I hope FSU loses badly in court and off the court as well **

I kind of just want to get it over with.**

I probably disagree with most on this.

Yep. Go Noles. So much damage and impairment seems to have been done that
TDVick 04/08/24 03:31 PM ET
Almost every eventuality with no ACC is bad for VT
SpeakToDamien 04/06/24 11:33 PM ET
Wait. Now I like the ACC, but

Going to court was not the right thing to do though

I'm not sure what leverage they had to negotiate an early exit.

Let me give you my honest answer inside…
Stech 04/06/24 05:34 PM ET
Especially FSU promoting ever negative thing they can
VTCALS72 04/06/24 04:42 PM ET
Hokie fans absolutely need to hope the ACC survives

I tend to agree with this because

The P2 may not be sustainable

Dunno. I just think the whole thing is a lose-lose for college sports fans.

A lot of questions about the 70/80 team Super League...

Personally, I believe VT benefits from stability in the ACC**

Not really.

It sure isn’t ideal, but the alternative may be worse
VT ChemE 1986 04/06/24 01:16 PM ET
The alternative being the conference completely breaks apart &VT doesnt get
UpstateSCHokie 04/06/24 01:21 PM ET
I am not, the XII does nothing for either east or west coast teams.
VTCALS72 04/06/24 04:51 PM ET
Everything depends on the ACC contract
