I think most commissioners either realize going into the job or soon after
they took the job that their members probably had a hand in creating the NCAA's incompetence. Heck even the schools realize they had a role to play in creating this mess regardless whether they are willing to admit it or not. Once everyone reaches that state of thinking, then it should change how the commissioner's performance evaluation is conducted. Also, it should make it more likely that the commissioner will retain his/her job unless he/she commits the kind of mistakes Larry Scott made while employed with the Pac-12.
