ITs not that. its business
If you think this is about fans, and institutions, no. its about markets and expected return by the bean counters. Oregon and Wash wasnt part of Fox's package, they just wanted LA. Big 10 had to work it with them AND the members.
networks give you a bid for xx no more no less, they allow enhancement if Big 10 gets the LA market check. They didnt expect the PAC 12 to fall. and the problem as Fox was not willing to expand their huge rights equality for the other 2 and no other schools were going to reduce their gravy train. The partial rights, was the bridge to get them in and shake with Fox.
bottom line, there will be no memory and tossing nd turning, when Oregon and/or Wash gives them exciting games and great number of viewers, guess what, all past is history, blanked away. they are long term members of the big 10 (being sarcastic)
thats the way sports business is
