They replaced the old bleacher seating with more comfortable individual seats. People today want a nicer experience. They don't want to be packed in like sardines on uncomfortable benches. With every game available on TV or streaming, people no longer have to come to the stadium to watch the game, so you have to make it more appealing for them to do so.
