These things don't get talked about publicly, or they don't happen. I'm not rumoring that it will happen, I'm just looking at things that are factually happening and suggesting what may possibly come to pass as a result. ESPN isn't currently negotiating with the Pac 10 on a deal the Pac 12 schools will accept. That's a fact. But, ESPN did offer $200M for Pac 12 Tier 1 rights because that's the value of having Tier 1 games on the West Coast to ESPN. ESPN wants those games and will pay for them. Another fact. Oregon and Washington are not going to want to start making $20M a year less than the Big XII and ACC (And $50M a year less than the B1G and SEC) starting in 2024. I'm sure that's a fact. Finally, the "Magnificent 7" want more money, but they're stuck in a long contract that ESPN should not increase unless its given more value to do so through additional content. Simultaneously, the Big XII is trying to add as much value as it can becuase its most valuable properties have left the league. Two more facts. So...something is going to happen here. It's not going to stand pat.
