who is as likely as not, just shilling for their employer's financial interest
kind of like politicians leaking a rumor to get a story out and then citing the story because it came from another source..."according to so and so..."
most of the major media folks have stumbled significantly at least once on the conf expansion topic the last few years because there is really no penalty for being wrong; only for not being first or getting enough clicks.
