They don't need to understand football fans

They are running a business and all that matters is the numbers. How many people they have exposure to Average number of viewers for games broken up by day, time, channel, etc. Advertiser interest and rates Cost to produce games and studio content How it all carries over to the web and streaming services where they can generate additional revenue And always remember, controversy generates more content and more viewers. So they don't mind at all if their actions cause some issues in the sport. That leads to more discussion and more revenue from viewers/readers.
