The reasons I love and watch college football have a lot more to do with Youngstown State and North Dakota State than with a semi-pro, paid player Alabama, even if Alabama is in "division I." I stopped watching the NFL years ago, after free agency and salary caps meant the players left every few years. I'll stop watching whatever this super league of college football is, too.
