Academically aligned conference? Who cares about that. This is an ATHLETIC conference. Keep Scripps and CW happy? Why? They are small time players with small viewership compared to the main channels. Backfill with Memphis, Tulane, UNLV etc.? No chance that any current ACC school signs up for a long term of that. That’s a G6 conference. The ACC is absolutely desperate and is terrified of a mass exodus. If Clemson, FSU, and UM leave, the value of the ACC will plummet. And that will drive football schools like VT to very seriously consider the B12 or make a hard sales push to be invited by the P2.
