If the ACC is going to continue to be a mix of diverse schools, it will need to begin rewarding schools differently based upon the value they create. Consider the following example: We establish a baseline of $20M per year. We then establish an incentive pool based upon 60% football, 20% men’s basketball and 20% everything else. Schools are lumped into 3 tiers in each and paid accordingly. Bonuses are paid for conference championships and play-off participation. In such a scenario an FSU could earn $70M in a good year while a BC earns $25M. Problem solved!
