Another prestigious academic university that left the SEC, Tulane was a charter member. And the University of Chicago gave up the Big 10. I on a long-term trajectory where US Universitiies just give up athletics altogether. Dartmouth, another well thought of academic institution in the Ivy league is fighting employee/unionism. Granted it is private but if I am making practical business decisions on where to spend $, I might just scrap the athletic programs altogether.
