I sure hope this never happens.

"IF" the ACC ever did lose several schools, I think it is more likely that Pitt, Syracuse, Louisville and maybe GA Tech end up in the Big 12. UNC, UVA, Notre Dame and Miami to the Big 10 and GA Tech if Notre Dame remains a football independent. FSU, Clemson, NC State and VA Tech to the SEC. The ACC would be left with BC, Duke, Wake, SMU, Cal, Stanford and add UConn, South Florida, Tulane, Rice, Air Force, Oregon State, Washington State, San Diego State, Notre Dame (if they remain a football independent) and have Army-West Point and Navy-Annapolis as football only members. The ACC would have 16 football schools and 15 all sports members. ACC East: BC, UConn, Duke, Notre Dame and Wake Forest ACC South: Air Force Academy, Rice, South Florida, SMU and Tulane ACC West: Cal, Oregon State, San Diego State, Stanford and Washington State "IF" GA Tech, Louisville, Pitt and Syracuse stay in the ACC you may have something like this for all sports except for football: ACC North: BC, UConn, Notre Dame, Pitt and Syracuse ACC South: Duke, GA Tech, Louisville, South Florida and Wake Forest ACC Central: Air Force, Memphis, Rice, SMU, and Tulane ACC West: Cal, Oregon State, San Diego State, Stanford and Washington State Army and Navy for football only giving ACC 21 football members with 3 seven team divisions. Notre Dame would still play 5 or 6 ACC teams in football. This is just as wacky as the original post. ;)

I think this was an assumption that the ACC implodes and where we land...
jesuisvtguy 10/02/23 04:25 PM ET
VT would be the top football property in the East on that map.

What if the ACC, Big12, and Pac2 all merged? And then picked from the rest.**
Hardcore_Hokie 09/30/23 12:59 AM ET
That is pretty close to the best of the rest. **
Big12 guy 09/29/23 09:30 PM ET
Add FSU, Clemson, Miami, Duke, UNC, UVA, GT,Syracuse, to that footprint…
Hardcore_Hokie 09/30/23 01:18 AM ET
The consensus is Clemson, FSU, etc leaving for SEC & Big10**
SunDevilHokie 10/01/23 12:31 AM ET
What consensus? Neither can pay the exit fees and neither has an offer.**
Hardcore_Hokie 10/01/23 12:36 AM ET
This was from a Big12 board following a “If the ACC implodes” articles. **
SunDevilHokie 10/01/23 12:48 AM ET
Just so you know, the Big12 is currently P4 and PRAYING the P3 ACC implodes**
Hardcore_Hokie 10/01/23 12:54 AM ET
I hear and see nothing of the kind out there with anyone "wanting" the ACC
Big12 guy 10/01/23 08:45 AM ET
Georgia Tech would be a better add than Memphis. **
