BD played for the Pirates and was primarily a first baseman and right fielder. He did catch for six innings during three separate games. In the history of MLB, only about 30 players have caught left handed. Only one, Jack Clements was a left handed catcher for an extended career, during most of which he played for the Philadelphia Quakers/Phillies.
