I have never been a big fan of Arby's yet they seem to linger around.
Contradictory to the "We Have The Meats", their roast beef slices have kept getting less and less on every sandwich, but I am happy to say, I have never said anything about it that would have pissed off the staff. ** Edited by jdkhokie at 6/25/2026, 10:45:09 AM

You should try the franchise around Richmond and Petersburg. They have much
more to offer. Real meals.

That franchisee and his chef......
were cutting edge for Arby's and their test kitchen was the point of many of the Arby's creations later rolled out nationwide. ** Edited by 2hhoop3 at 6/25/2026, 6:50:25 PM

You just reminded me of Ken Beatrice who did sports at WMAL in DC
back in the day. He'd do these in show advertisments for a particular Arby franchise including the franchiser's name. "and I particulary like the curly fries..." which was pretty funny when he said he had a triple bypass surgury and couldn't eat them anymore but really liked them.

Before I got Alpha Gal, the smokehouse brisket sandwich was a favorite
no shortage of meat on that thing. Definitely helped my waistline when Arby's left the lobby of my old office building.

James Center?

Yep - I haven't worked there in a long time but it was a steady stream
of Arby's for lunch and the hot wrap cart on the corner (Simon's Cafe, I think). That hot wrap cart was one of the biggest casualties of COVID, IMO.

I used to eat at that Arby's quite often, myself.
I oversaw multiple construction projects downtown and would eat at the James Center Arby's at least once or twice a week during those periods. I got to know several of the staff a little bit over the years, so I was bummed to see that location close down. I actually ran into one of those ladies (Lovie) at the Ashland Arby's not too long ago.

I, have learned to read the menu closely as some list a Rachel as a Ruben
and I only get a Ruben if it has sauerkraut and Pastrami or Corned Beef, no Turkey Rubens. ** Edited by coshokie at 6/25/2026, 2:45:10 PM ** Edited by coshokie at 6/25/2026, 2:45:41 PM
