So pissed off. Went all school year without getting sick. Literally the day
After I’m done for the year I get a stuffy nose and now I’m at urgent care with a sinus infection. Ugh.

This used to happen to me right after many school years
I never could explain it.

I often get sick on vacation.
I think it's mostly a byproduct of the stress of trying to get things in order at work, pack the car, drive on I-95, etc. By the time we get to our destination, I'm usually exhausted and totally wound up. Then I crash, and often times end up not feeling great. These days it almost feels like going on vacation is not worth the effort.

Get sick *after* a camping trip when I was a kid...
scout camp, whatever, get wet in rain storms, don't sleep, eat junk food, knock yourself out horsing around, hiking etc... ...not a problem. Then you get home tired and weary and boom, catch a cold. Never understood that. Maybe your body is dumping adreniline into the system while you're there, fight or flight mode or something, keeping you going. Get home and you get into shut down/repair mode. You are also exposing yourself to a lot more people again so maybe it's that.

Yeah, I think that is very similar. And I think you're on to something...
...regarding the adrenaline dump. I think under stress, your body is able to cope short-term to push through whatever the situation is. Then, once things have settled and you calm down, the ramifications of the stress seem to set in.
