Missed the discussion on VT Natty win: 2026 Dressage team

This was before the NCAA dropped the sport due to rampant steroid abuse.

VT won it so as a reward, they got to host it the next year which might have been '74 and yes, I went over to watch a little. Basically get three lifts, one to get something in, two to do your competitive best and maybe a third to push it a little but. overdo it so interesting to see some guy come no where close to winning but ... competing against himself I guess.
I may have pictures of the trophy somewhere. I actually tried to find any trophies. went over to the Merriman Center walked around, even ran into the equipment manager Carlin(?) who didn't know. got sent over to the new Memorial Gym and yes, there were display cases scatterered around (the kind of stuff you don't know what to do with so you put into some hall somewhere) and finally someone suggested that all that stuff was over at a gym over in the shopping area where Kroger is, that is, the owner was somehow connected with that past. Everyone there was clueless of course which they would be I guess even if there were a box of stuff in a closet somewhere.
