A cellular phone issue
I have ATT, and a friend has Verizon. Neither of us can call the other. I get a "call failed" every time, and he gets a different message from his cell provider, but the issue is the same. I think this is something that's happened recently, at least since last weekend...maybe earlier? I tried someone else and got the same "call failed." I've tried turning off "wifi" and using the cellular towers, but the result is the same. Any idea how to troubleshoot? Is there a setting on my iPhone I need to check?

I use Metro PCS. It's part of T Mobil...
Unlimited everything for $50 per month. I've had them for years and never had a problem.

According to @RoswellGAHokie it's bec they're owned by American Airlines.
Check your phones - both of you - and if your carrier is Spectrum, you wouldn't have this issue.

Is this why I can't call you? ;^)

I bet Edge predicted that and blocked himself.

Never mind...I restarted my phone and I can make calls again.
Twenty years of iPhones, and I've never had that issue before.

I should have gone there first.

my wife and I have ATT, and we could not call each
att was having problems in the Richmond area. We thought it was that, but after a day or two, we had to reboot both phones.

Sounds like it was an ATT problem. Never had that issue before, thus...
...why I was befuddled when everything else failed to correct the problem.

Same here, never happens with ATT. We have had them for 30 years straight

I have Android, but instead of doing a reboot, I'll often
just toggle the airplane mode on/off to reset the cell signal.

I tried that to no avail.

It has been happening to me more of late too. Usually it sorts out with
turning off wifi calling for me.

I turned off wifi and tried calling via the cell towers, but it didn't work
