A cellular phone issue
I have ATT, and a friend has Verizon. Neither of us can call the other. I get a "call failed" every time, and he gets a different message from his cell provider, but the issue is the same. I think this is something that's happened recently, at least since last weekend...maybe earlier? I tried someone else and got the same "call failed."
I've tried turning off "wifi" and using the cellular towers, but the result is the same.
Any idea how to troubleshoot? Is there a setting on my iPhone I need to check?

Unlimited everything for $50 per month. I've had them for years and never had a problem.

Check your phones - both of you - and if your carrier is Spectrum, you wouldn't have this issue.

Twenty years of iPhones, and I've never had that issue before.

att was having problems in the Richmond area. We thought it was that, but after a day or two, we had to reboot both phones.

...why I was befuddled when everything else failed to correct the problem.

just toggle the airplane mode on/off to reset the cell signal.
