When Ovi gets going, everyone else gets going. The early injury set him back fitness-wise, and he pretty much played through it. We'll never know what was wrong, but he's known to play through some pretty bad stuff. Much better movement through the neutral zone last night. Cafe Milano and Frankie had really nice games and chances for hatties of their own. Leno is playing better every night and had good looks and was a presence all night. Stromer with a couple three assists while worrying about his wife and newborn daughter, and Tom "Put Him On the Canadian Olympic Team Now" Wilson was an absolute force.

Lappy's going to find himself in another jersey when PLD is healthy again

I was high on Lappy three seasons ago. Done with him now. He's had several chances to get going, and he has fumbled every one of them. PLD going down was the career-boosting gift that he could have taken advantage of. Now he's playing wing until Dowder is back. Sourdif is coming along. Gotta realize he's essentially a rookie. I have a feeling Lappy and somebody are going to end up being packaged and sent elsewhere. TvR is looking more and more expendable. He's a fairly reliable third pair pure defensive blueliner. Chisholm is probably much better at carrying the puck through the zone, which is where the Caps have gotten stuck (see the entire Carolina playoff series). Been really pleased to see Little Kid Leno starting to play like he did at BC. He's fearless going to the goal. His confidence is rising.

Whatever it is will take another extraordinary athlete to break his record.
