This isn't your parent's Corolla
The humble Corolla nameplate has found itself attached to a few not-so-humble concepts over the last few weeks. First, we got an early look at the all-new Corolla Concept ahead of its debut at the Japan Mobility Show, before the lifted Corolla Cross Hybrid Nasu Edition was unveiled.
Both hinted at a much more exciting future for the best-selling car of all time, and now, the full reveal of the Corolla Concept has not changed that perception. It looks nothing like today’s Corolla, and the arresting exterior design is complemented by an interior dripping with just as much fresh thinking.

Yeah, read up on that, seems to be an increasing problem:
"Blackiston explained why so many drivers have registered under this designation: "No inspection, no vehicle emissions. Cheaper registration, less expensive insurance." and in fact, they just changed the rules this past summer to make it '99 or earlier.
the idea is that you driv them in parades, not on I95. Otoh, if the car is 25+ years old, shows you what reliable cars they made. And yes, that picture is sleek looking.

...which owners take excellent care of their vehicles.
Some people do abuse it. I wouldn't mind rust-buckets being pulled over by the police for "safety inspections."
I have "antique" tags on my 85 BMW, and mechanically (and ascetically) it's in excellent shape.

car's still running after 25 years but the state doesn't want rust-bucket and otherwise dangerous and poluting cars on the road.

They are the best in the business. If you're in the market for one, I would definitely buy a Toyota.
