First, get a lobotomy. Then try to locate a competent local

architect who’d willingly take on overseeing the construction of the plan you’ve found. In most populated areas there are a number of one-person or small architecture firms who’ll likely want the work of Construction Managers. The thing you have to remember is that in the building industry the architects LEGALLY oversee, supervise and validate the work of contractors. You need someone skilled in handling the contractor relationships to make sure you’re getting what you want. Will it cost more if you have an architect? Yes, but what’ll it cost if you wander unknowingly through the process with a contractor who knows you’re not experienced?
