It's none of the above
A full time UPS driver will make an average of $49/hr. If they work 40 hours a week, 52 weeks a year that's $102K...and that's five years from now. Right now they're getting bumped to $44.26/hr (from $41.51/hr) with the rest to be phased in.
The rest of the "170k" is the monetary value placed on non-salary benefits (health insurance, retirement, etc...) that, just like ordinary office workers, is not a number that shows up directly in their paychecks. A married UPS driver, for example, who opts to use their spouse's health insurance does not get a pay bump to compensate for not using UPS insurance.
6 figures for driving the brown truck is nothing to sneeze at. But it's not $170k. Not really.
