I’m on the management side. UPS and Southwest are two successful
companies that are also wall-to-wall union. The employees get compensated very generously and the company has the flexibility in the CBA to hold them to high productivity standards and adapt to changing market conditions.
When unionized companies struggle, it’s generally because they lack management rights and can’t adapt. Generous economics doesn’t play nearly as big a role.
