That's the kind of news that sounds bad on the surface, but is actually

good. Sounds like people are starting to figure out that getting "a" degree is almost worthless. Getting a specific degree in a field that requires a degree is still extremely valuable, but being college educated just for the sake of being college educated just isn't worth it given the cost these days. Learn a trade, join an apprenticeship, get a certificate, earn an associates degree...these are all ways to get yourself into a good career without sinking 6-figures into a college education. Sure, if you want to be an engineer, or doctor, or lawyer, or chemist, or any of a few dozen other professions, college is going to be the cost of admission into that career path. But that bachelor's degree in the humanities has a lousy ROI. If you can pay for college as you go, then sure, study what you want. But if you are borrowing money, you really need to calculate the ROI.
