Victor Emanuel II National Monument. This monument is also called Altar of the Fatherland. This monument honors King Emmanuel II, the first king of a unified Italy.
This monument also has Italy's Monument of the Unknown Soldier. You can see the guards directly under the equestrian statue of Emmanuel II. They give some sense of the size of the total monument.
