Eradicating yellow jackets is fairly easy once you know where the...

...entrance to their next is located. Buy a can of the foaming bee spray (Wasp spray?) that says it also kills yellowjackets, then wait until about 30 minutes after sunset to attack. From what I've read, all of the yellowjackets will have returned to the nest by then. Spray the entire can down the hole and head back inside your house. All of those suckers should be dead, but if you want to give them a second blast, squirt some Dawn dishwashing liquid down the hole the next morning, then shove you hose into the hole and turn on the water. That should kill any that possibly survived the foam attack. Disclaimer: I had two yellowjacket nests in my yard last year, and that's how I got rid of them.
