Hopefully, I’ll make the softball tailgate - unfortunately not the game - before hitting I 81. Won’t bore you with my hiking exploits other than the weather has been beautiful and perfect. I did visit the Sarver home place wondering how the heck a guy could live on top of sinking Creek Mountain with such a tough climb to get there. Yesterday scared up four wild turkey at which point I knew Virginia Tech would crush Clemson in softball that evening. Got going the wrong way two days ago and there was a guy in a turbo something pick up truck just sitting there in the middle of nowhere. I asked directions, but of course he was from Tennessee working for some crew that was repairing forest service roads from Mount Rogers to apparently the Blacksburg area. He tried to help me out, took a call from his home office, where he referred to me as “a wanderer“ which I kind of dug. Anyway “lags law of loafing.” is that no matter how far away you get from the madding crowd there is always some guy there chillin’ on a nice day. 1). Yeah, er no, not sure OSHA would approve. The next day they had a heavy duty cherry picker so there’s that. 2). My winged critter of the day: a Luna moth. 3). Piles of stones all around the Sarver home place, this Sarver guy was a dude. 4) James Franklin at the first Clemson game.
