Got my 12 books read for the year...
A few classics so the next time someone posts one of those greatest books lists, I should move up a couple notches. Absolutely hated "East of Eden" though, how the hel-eck did Steinbeck win a Nobel prize? Bunch of crap. As I have mentioned before, really enjoyed NK Jemisen's "The Fifth Season" especially for its science fiction world building. Likewise, picked up a a copy of "Ready Player One" while looking for a sandwich shop in Newport News - the place was also a discount book store - pure randomness, but apparently made into a movie, even the attendent at a doctor's office recognized it so I guess I'm caught up with 2011 now. . Distopian future, but with lots of humor and nerd/techie references of which...I got a few. The band Rush figures in it, and darned if they didn't announce a new tour shortly after I finished it. Just got #12 done with a month to spare. Pleased wid dat.
