George was the vocalist and principal songwriter of Not Shakespeare, who were active from about 1981 until the mid nineties. He was diagnosed with cancer about 5 years ago and passed this morning at his home in Charlottesville. Survived by his wife Jen. I met George when we both lived on campus in 1979. Saw his band & partied at the Not house(s) more times than I can remember. Part of many of my most favorite memories. If you knew George or knew those who knew him, there’s stuff on social media. Memorial gathering sometime next spring. DJ Golf is sad. 😢
