Need the lounge EEs for this one.

Turning our garage door smart with a shelly relay that allows us to open and close garage door via phone and smart home hub(hubitat) by connecting to my garage door button on my wall. I got the relay working this weekend after chatgpt wrote me some code to use for the driver. And then Gemini bailed it out because chatgpt was making bad assumptions on old data. My problem is with the enclosure I bought. Like a dumb dumb I didn't check the size of my PSU that's transforming 120v down to 24v and it's likely it's too big or just barely not too big for the enclosure. There are other PSU's out there that are skinnier but they aren't grounded and my industrial manufacturing experience makes me not too keen to use one that isn't grounded. I'm pretty sure they aren't double insulated either(cheap) and that's what the LLMs tell me people use for ungrounded PSUs.. Should I just go with the smaller PSU and bite the bullet? ** Edited by ElbertoHokie at 8/11/2025, 8:54:51 AM ** Edited by ElbertoHokie at 8/11/2025, 8:55:29 AM

Some pliers and a set of 30-weight ball bearings should do it. **

All in all, it's just another button on the wall.**

ElbertoHokie 08/11/25 09:48 AM ET
?, not a fix. Would you use your phone to open the garage as you're coming

When we bought the house, there was only one functioning opener.
ElbertoHokie 08/11/25 09:48 AM ET
Why not just buy another remote? **

Yea. He’s making this so much more difficult than he needs to. **

Or that.

All of these solutions are silly.

For sure. I could have bought another remote. But I want to make this
ElbertoHokie 08/11/25 12:26 PM ET
But by using a phone for the remote, won't you have to, as you pull in,
