She and her partner just opened a new wine/champagne store in DC call "District Champagne". She was in the store by herself and one customer. Crazy bastard (not necessarily homeless) walks in yelling, and acting threatening, and turns around and walks out. Comes in again, grabs a bottle of wine off the shelf and starts walking away. My daughter grabs her phone and starts filming him and chasing him down, yelling at him. He turns around breaks the bottle and punches her in the face. She calls the police and they later arrest the dude, for assault and petty theft. They have plenty of pictures of him on her phone and the store cameras. My first thought is "are you crazy'? Why would you chase after him for a bottle of wine, but we raised her to not take crap from anyone and apparently it rubbed off. So I end up being supportive and expressing my concern for her well-being. Cops tell her next time, pepper spray the **** out of the guy. The kind with dye in it so they can identify him more easily. So a) I'm worried about her safety, b) proud of her being tuff and refusing to be a victim but still think it's a crazy thing to do. What advice do I give her... I'm thinking of finding out who it is and where the dude lives and paying him a visit, but I'm also believe he has serious mental health issues too...
