Our dog, somewhat afraid of thunderstorms, is also scared some of the power

going out. He sleeps downstairs when we're asleep upstairs. If there's a thunderstorm, he doesn't go running for a closet or bury his face behind furniture or anything like that, but he will come upstairs and lay down in our room. Last night the power went out at 11 PM. I have no idea why. No bad weather in the area. About 15 seconds after it went out, up the stairs he comes and he lays down in our room. I guess the TOTAL darkness, no sound from the fridge, water heater, etc. etc. was just weird for him and he's a little afraid of weird. Power came back on in about 1 hour. Woke me up, as the overhead light in the bedroom turned on.
