RIP Mom :(

I think the Lounge can be a little cathartic at times. On Saturday my 82 year old mom fell in her house and broke a couple ribs, a collarbone and suffered a serious skull fracture. She went to the hospital Sat night, and at first we all thought she was gonna get through this ok. Her and my dad live in Vegas, where they retired about 25 years ago after living in Richmond for about15 years. However, things turned seriously for the worst on Wed(yesterday). My wife and I flew to Vegas last night and fortunately after a flight delay, I got to the hospital by midnight. Unfortunately by 3AM this morning my mom had passed. Spending that last bit of time with her was priceless. My mom should have been in a supervised retirement home, but her and my dad are stubbornly independent and so that was never gonna happen in a million years. My mom liked to drink her white zin all day and watch her political shows on tv and there was no way she wasn't going to do exactly what she wanted to do. Her fall was nothing out of the ordinary, but she was a frail woman who was down to probably 95 pounds and Parkinsons was taking its toll on her. My dad is doing ok.
